My Vertigo - Spring Allergy Connection

Hi everyone with vertigo. First thing i want to say is keep strong. You are not alone and everyone who has written here knows what you are going through. It is not a nice feeling at all. I have had vertigo for about 1.5 years now and im 25 and healthy in all other respects.

One day it all started. Mid spring. I was very congested, so much so that one of my ears felt completely blocked. If i tried to pop my ears i could only pop my right ear unless i blocked my right ear with one finger and with my other had popped held my nose. I had no idea it was from allergies since this was the first year i had them. I turns out that i had developed an allergy to grasses (thanks a lot, may as well be oxygen :P) So occasianally ever since then, maybe 1-2 week, i get mild dizzy attacks. Mostly i will get woken out of sleep with the room spinning rapidly mostly one direction. Thankfully once i stand up it seems to subside.

A few things that seem to make it a little worse are lack of sleep, coffee, alcohol, hash cake (i went on a eurotrip and had to try it, not a good idea at all)

when i first had an attack i was terrified, i had no idea what was going on. My eyes started to shoot left to right uncontrollably. I was convicned i was going to die or had some form of cancer or tumor or that i was losing my mind. The panic attacks followed with every vertigo attack. It then stopped me from doing things i would normally do, i was scared to go into crowds, prefered to stay indoors etc.
now a little time on and i have been able to control it occasionally, as in lying down and concentrating on the surface i am on. its hard and takes a lot of practice and doesnt always work, sorry! But this does help me to get to sleep most nights.

i am now trying diffrenet anti histamines to see if it is sinus related. Ill keep you all informed. first is zyrtek and rhinocort. I have tried antihistamiss before just in tablet form and have helped a little. but now im going to go on a strict regieme to see if it helps.

i went to see an EMT and had an audiogram, all is clear, and to be honest, none of the doctors so far seem to help or care. im off to see a neurologist soon…fingers crossed

I emphasise (spelling) with all of you, its a nightmare and hopefully we can find something to help us all.
